Memorial Day Ropin'

Oh yeah, that's right. We found another Jr. Roping and not only did Coltin and Everitt enter so did Alayna. They all had fun and walked away with a prize!

In the 6 and under group both Alayna and Everitt entered. Everitt, we believe was the oldest, took first place, winning a rope. He only needed to rope/catch a few times. The other younger kids missed. Alayna placed fifth and won a glove. She was happy.

Coltin entered in the 7-9 yr. old group. There was about four kids and right from the start two missed leaving Coltin against this other boy. To make the catching more of a challenge they move the dummy further out after each successful catch. After about 9 catches, at quite a reach, Coltin went a bit too far and missed the dummy. It was a fun little competition to watch and he ended up in second place winning a rope bag.

Everitt Graduated!!

On May 20, 2010 Everitt Dean Mauler graduated from Kindergarten. He had an awesome year with Mrs. Adams and his fellow classmates. The kids did a program "Race to the Finish". Everitt had a few lines as the fox. Then they gave out diplomas. It was nice.
We are so proud of our little man!!

Field Day! May 18, 2010

Finally posting this...
Coltin competing in the long jump. And dancing afterwards! :)

He won 2nd place.

The 2nd graders tug-of-war. Coltin is wearing the red shorts.
His team was not so strong they ended up with a 3rd place.

Three-legged race with friend Jayden. They did good but were not fast enough to place.

Relay races. Coltin's team took third place.

Coltin raced in the 100 meter dash.
He missed the blue ribbon by a few inches!
It was a good race and he did bring home 2nd place.
Coltin also ended up with a first place blue ribbon in this hotshot basketshooting competition and fifth in the shoe kick. Total of 6 ribbons.

Kindergarten tug-of-war. Everitt has on the ball cap.
His team won third place at this one.

Everitt and Alayna running the 3-legged race. They had an odd number of kindergarteners and ended paring Everitt up with his sis. They didn't get a ribbon but did well. It was so sweet to see them work together.

Everitt raced in the 50 meter dash. Taking home a 1st place blue ribbon! Guess he is fast. :)

Everitt competing in the long jump, he won 5th place.

Everitt had a great day! He also got 2nd place at ball throwing that one I did not get pic of.  He brought home 4 ribbons total.

Excuse Me, Excuse You

Trying to teach manners is an on going feat. Lately Corbin has been burping so we are trying to get him to be polite and say "Excuse me". Now that is not difficult as he has a great vocabulary, but it is turning out to be quite entertaining.

I was in Wal-Mart with Corbin and Alayna the other day and he burped. I said "say excuse me." Corbin says "Excuse you" I said "no, excuse me." So he says again "excuse you." You know they usually repeat words the way you say them. Well he's got me grinning at this point trying to figure out how I can get him to understand what to say. I say "OK when you burp you need to say excuse me. So excuse you, Corbin." "Excuse you Mommy" Now trying not to laugh I plead with him, "Corbin just say excuse me."

"Excuse Mommy!!!"
