Halloween Fun!

It was beautiful weather Sat. (10-30). While the kids were all playing outside I decided to carve up our pumpkin. No one was interested for very long and as I got into it I realized it was a bit soft for carving so we went the easy route... Mr. Potato Head parts!

The church Chilie party and Truck-or-Treat was that evening. The kids were excited to get dressed up. Coltin had a tough time deciding, and almost didn't dress up, but finally let me wrap him up like a mummy. Alayna on the other hand, had planned on being Aurora for probably the last 2 months. Everitt's costume idea changed over the last week as the boys' love of basketball (and their friend) had them creating their own team and jerseys. Um, "Go Tigers!" :)  Corbin had been telling anyone that asked him what he was going to dress up as that he was to be "King of Fire". We really have no idea what that ment! Then he found, in the dress up box, our skelton sweatsuit and that was that.  We had fun dressing up, playing games at the church and getting lots of candy!

Pumpkin Pickin'

We were a bit late in the season picking out our pumpkin and the frost two nights before left us with few choices. We decided that one large pumpkin would be what we could do this year so the kids did there best to find a big one that wasn't smooshie! :)

Yes my cute Everitt has a white nose. Face painting from at school -it's a ghost.

Corbin had a blast picking up all different kinds of pumpkins.

Corbin's Owie

Oh man, Corbin did it good this time. He was out on the deck playing and somehow gouged open his upper lip. It is the perfect shape of a smile, but no-one was smiling! I could not decide if he should get stitches or not. Of course this all had to happen when dad was out of town hunting. Finally, I decided to have my wonderful nurse friend help us out. He was already starting to heal so she taped it up. It all worked out well. He was even proud of his "bandaid mustache".  He was real brave and may end up with a scar but I am thankful we didn't have to go through the expense or trauma of Urgent Care and that it wasn't worse.

(I had to take pix on my phone and haven't been able to down load them. Hope to soon. But wanted to get the rest of my posts up. Oh, btw, he has healed well!)

Preschool Fieldtrip

Alayna's preschool group to a trip to the pumpkin patch. The kids had fun 'driving' the tractors and 4-wheelers, running the maze and we even went through the haunted house! Corbin was so happy to be included. It was a beautiful day!

Alayna's 5th Birthday

Seems crazy that Alayna is now 5. She has been so excited for this birthday, I guess 5 is a pretty big deal. Well on the 11th she opened the family gifts after coming home from gymnastics. (This month is her first enrolled and she loves it.) She was excited about all the fun stuff she got. ;) Thank you.

We had to try out the roller-skates. She was getting the hang of it and we got distracted with Corbin and boom down on her bum. She decided it hurt more that it was fun! We'll try again later.

She wanted a Barbie cake for her party. I was so excited to try it out. I even used fondant for the first time. Well to complicate the event, and keep costs down, I made my own fondant. (I had never heard of this stuff before I started checking out cake ideas this fall.) Well it worked out pretty well. Not perfect, but she was quite happy. The wings help! I gave Alayna a trimmed off portion to decorate too, it was fun doing that together.

Party time! The girls were so excited. We had a great time eating cake, playing games and painting finger and toe nails! I can't wait to do more girl parties.

Happy Birthday sweet Alayna, We love you!!

A few fun facts about Alayna. She loves pink and sparkles. Prefers to wear dresses or skirts. Even though her hair is long and I can do so many things with it she usually chooses to have it up in a bun! (I wonder if that is a Tinkerbell thing?) She loves Disney Princesses, Barbie movies, playing dress up, riding her bike, drawing and writing her alphabet. She usually wants to help me in the kitchen and plays well with her brothers always trying to be involved in their games. Her stats- 41 lbs and 3 ft. 10 in. (putting her in the 90%. ) It won't be long she will pass up Everitt. ;)
