4 Grader ~ Honor Roll

Coltin made the Principals Honor roll this last quarter, (that is a 4.0 GPA!)  His first quarter he had 3.5 and was on the regular honor roll.  He has also been awarded and recognized twice this school year as student of the month. One in Art class and one in the 4th grade class. They only give out a few of these each year. We are so proud of how hard he works. He is proud of his accomplishments also and hopes to finish the year with a 4.0.

School Holiday Programs

It was great fun to see the kids perform with their classes. Alayna got to decorate her own Christmas tree for a fun song. They also did the "reindeer pokey", along with an assortment of other fun traditional Christmas songs. Coltin's 4th  grade class performed in "The Big Chill" all appearing very excited for lots of snow.
Everitt's 2nd grade class performed a version of "The Nutcracker Suite". I just enjoy the music from this and how enthusiastic the kids are.

The video are not very good, but it is what I got!

Corbin helped at home singing and decorating for me!

Kindergarten Fieldtrip

Alayna's class took a trip to Miller Farms where we got to play and pick lots of fresh crops. We brought home some great produce and had to cook up a stew.

2011 Fall Soccer

Cotin is bottom right.
Coltin was invited to play with the middle school boys soccer team. We know the coach real well and even though the boys were all older, we thought it would be a good opportunity since he was really interested. He did not get a lot of field time but totally enjoyed it.

Here is a write-up from the local paper.

First Week of School

Kids started school on Monday, 8/22, at Knowledge Quest Academy. They were all very excited. It was picture day so they did not have to wear their uniforms which is always nice, but Alayna was very bummed. She was excited to wear her new pink shirt and jumper. Well her first week was fun, she goes Mon. and Wed and every other Fri. She asked me if next week she will get to go every day like the boys. Guess she liked it that much. It did wear her out a bit though. Everitt is in 2nd grade with Mrs Davison. Same teacher Coltin had. She is great and he is excited. He started off the week great with a perfect score on spelling. Now our Coltin is a 4th grader with Mrs. Russell as his teacher again, she taught him in 1st. We are hoping that it is more enjoyable this time. He tested high enough that he made it into the districts Gifted and Talented program. We are pleased and know that they will continue to challenge him. It was a good week. Except for maybe Corbin who was a bit lost, lonely and sad at times. He would ask "are they coming home soon?" and "I want someone big to play with me like Everitt, or Coltin." He was happy to have Alayna around to play with on Tuesday and Thursday. I am totally missing our play time at the pool but am looking forward to getting a routine going again. Although I miss their help!

We are excited for great year in school!!

BYE GUYS!

And Home, she survived the bus and all. Not that we were ever concerned. =)

OK, here is Day 2. All dressed in her new uniform!
Good thing piggy-tails keep them from looking too grown-up.

Holiday Programs

Everitt's program was "BUGZ Christmas".  The 1st and 2nd graders performed together so he had no speaking parts but some fun songs. Like 12 Bugs of Christmas!

Everitt really got into some of the songs. It was great to see him perform. Dressing as a bug was optional so Everitt decided it was easer to just dress up nice.

Coltin's program "Humbug with Ms. Ebenezer, Grumpy Pants"; was combined of 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders. It was more like a real play. (Course the older kids had all the speaking parts.) But he knew his songs and appeared to be having fun.

We are proud of how they both did.
