Corbin's 4

The only thing he seriously wanted for his birthday was a Football Cake!! So I made his wish come true. It was fun as I formed it out of rice crispy treats and placed it on a regular cake. He was excited to see his name and #4 on it.

Got his own pillow pet!   =)

We had a fun little birthday. Corbin is such a bright and active boy. Some of the things he loves to do include baseball, riding bikes, running, climbing and having his siblings around, especially Everitt. He can't wait to ride the school bus and a horse "all by himself." He loves animals, cars and Pooh Bear movies. Makes me smile every time he asks for 'yourgit' (yogurt); 'chechup' (ketchup); or 'basketti' (spaghetti).  I know those days of cute words are coming to an end. Sad to see him grow up and yet exciting. We love our little man.
Happy 4th Birthday Corbie!

Our Last Days at the Pool

We got 5 pool passes for the summer and it was the best! I had an excuess to be out in the sun and the kids got to get wet! Back in June we were only going once or twice a week to the pool but by the end of the summer we were there 3 or 4 times a week. They became better swimmers, braving the diving board and then actually learning some diving and flips from us. (Just to clarify, Justin does the flips!)  Alayna started the season with floaties and now will jump off the diving board and swim all by herself. She can hold her breath a surprisingly long time! So proud to see them being so brave and improving so much. Even Corbin the last few weeks wanted to jump in off the side without his float vest. He was catching on. Didn't think at 3 he'd be practically swimming. Always trying to keep up with the older ones!

So with a week left at the pool Corbin did a crazy jump twist and split open his chin! Ouch. He was so brave about it, the life guards couldn't believe it. We got him taped up good the Dr. said we could do with out stitches. He just had to keep it dry for 4 days. =(
This was the 2nd day.

Now that the pool is closed we head to the free beach at Lake Loveland. I don't love the chlorine of the pool but I sure did not miss having sand stuck on everything.

Self Hair-Cut

Yes, Corbin got a hold of the scissors and it wasn't pretty. At least a bald spot on a boy is easier to fix! Stinker!

Fall Fun (other October happenings)

 Wow! A Hummer Limo!
At the begining of the month the boys got to go to a birthday party and this was their ride. They were very excited! It was a great party.

We had such warm weather this fall we enjoyed the colors for a long time. And when they did finally drop, one frosty morning, the kids got busy racking and playing in them.

Corbin's Owie

Oh man, Corbin did it good this time. He was out on the deck playing and somehow gouged open his upper lip. It is the perfect shape of a smile, but no-one was smiling! I could not decide if he should get stitches or not. Of course this all had to happen when dad was out of town hunting. Finally, I decided to have my wonderful nurse friend help us out. He was already starting to heal so she taped it up. It all worked out well. He was even proud of his "bandaid mustache".  He was real brave and may end up with a scar but I am thankful we didn't have to go through the expense or trauma of Urgent Care and that it wasn't worse.

(I had to take pix on my phone and haven't been able to down load them. Hope to soon. But wanted to get the rest of my posts up. Oh, btw, he has healed well!)

Baseball Birthday Boy!

Yep, We have a 3 year old now. If you asked what he wanted for his birthday all he would say was "a baseball cake!" So that is what he got. It was a fun little family party. He loved all the attention, opening presents and eating his baseball cake. (Thanks for all the fun gifts!)

Corbin is such a happy kid and still very active. He loves to play anything with the bigs kids and is always helping himself. Even when he shouldn't, like pouring his own juice! He is smart and very cleaver, he has been called a 'Little Houdini' my many who know him. His current weight is 29 lbs. and height is 37" putting him in the 15 and 25 percentile. He communicates great, gets so excited over sports, horses, loves his cowboy boots, books, puzzles, riding his bike, playing with mom's hair, tickles from dad, and wrestling siblings. He and Alayna get along so well, now that they have so much alone time, he willingly plays all her girlie games. We love you Corbie. Happy Birthday!!

Here are a few fun 'Cowboy Corbin' pictures I took this last month.

Yes- I had a little photo shoot fun ;)

He loves his hat and boots but is also very willing to get dressed up for church.
Do you think his thoughts are...
When I look like my dad, I'm cool too!
