Mom and Dad are officially moved in.

So at the end of June we went to visit them and their horses in Cedaredge. It was a fun vacation for the family. On the way there we stopped in Glennwood Canyon and hiked up Grizzly Creek. We enjoyed a beautiful drive over McClure Pass. Corbin was so excited to get there, "I unna ride horses!" He kept telling us. And he did. They all did. Alayna for the first time solo in the coral. The boys seemed to remember what to do too. We also enjoyed a 3 hr hike on the Grand Mesa. Our kids did great, Alayna sets a good pace. ;)

Game Two 6-19-10

More baseball...

Coltin got to pitch the first 2 innings of the game, and then was our third baseman. He got to bat twice getting on base both times.

Everitt got to pitch for the 3rd and 4th innings after playing the short stop position. He was also up to bat twice, striking out once and walking the next time.

Both of the boys played well. Their pitching is great, it is exciting to watch them strick out those batters. ;)  Unfortunately we did not win.

Baseball has started. We originally signed Coltin up for the 10 and under league (a.k.a. kid pitch,) and Everitt to play on the coach pitch league. Coltin started practice 3 weeks before Everitt, so naturally Everitt went with to watch. Well on the 3rd or 4th practice they had all the boys out on the field playing/learning a position and realized they needed a batter. So they asked Everitt to help out. The coaches liked what they saw and asked him to practice with them. Our team is a young team with most kids being 7 or 8. Everitt was just as good as the older boys, if not better. The coaches were excited to have Coltin pitch, apparently he has a natural talent.  As practices went on and the first game approached we discovered that Everitt too has that pitching ability! That did it, he was officially recruited to be in their league. (Sorry Coach Pitch Team)  This was awesome for us, both boys on the same team made it more simple and more exciting. And since Justin had the time he was asked to be an assistant coach. He's enjoying that.
The night of their first game the coaches surprised us by putting our 6 yr old out to pitch first. He is so dang cute and did a great job. Coltin did great as 3rd baseman, and was one of few kids to hit the ball. They ended up loosing the game but it was fun. We are excited to watch the boys improve their skills and enjoy playing ball this summer.  GO SCORPIONS!

Playing at the lake

It was a beautiful warm summer day, and since they kids have been begging me to go out and catch more crawdads I took them to the lake for a few hours. We had fun and of course got our feet wet to cool off. (Our lake is not for swimming-big bummer!) But Coltin and Everitt caught 2 crawdads. So I guess we were successful. By the way we don't eat them. ;)
