First Week of School

Kids started school on Monday, 8/22, at Knowledge Quest Academy. They were all very excited. It was picture day so they did not have to wear their uniforms which is always nice, but Alayna was very bummed. She was excited to wear her new pink shirt and jumper. Well her first week was fun, she goes Mon. and Wed and every other Fri. She asked me if next week she will get to go every day like the boys. Guess she liked it that much. It did wear her out a bit though. Everitt is in 2nd grade with Mrs Davison. Same teacher Coltin had. She is great and he is excited. He started off the week great with a perfect score on spelling. Now our Coltin is a 4th grader with Mrs. Russell as his teacher again, she taught him in 1st. We are hoping that it is more enjoyable this time. He tested high enough that he made it into the districts Gifted and Talented program. We are pleased and know that they will continue to challenge him. It was a good week. Except for maybe Corbin who was a bit lost, lonely and sad at times. He would ask "are they coming home soon?" and "I want someone big to play with me like Everitt, or Coltin." He was happy to have Alayna around to play with on Tuesday and Thursday. I am totally missing our play time at the pool but am looking forward to getting a routine going again. Although I miss their help!

We are excited for great year in school!!

BYE GUYS!

And Home, she survived the bus and all. Not that we were ever concerned. =)

OK, here is Day 2. All dressed in her new uniform!
Good thing piggy-tails keep them from looking too grown-up.

End of the Year

Wow can't believe we are headed into the summer of 2011. The school year has gone pretty well. The boys have made new friends, learned a lot, and pleased us with how well they learn and do in class. Coltin recieved much recognition for his high grades, wonderful attitude and willingness to help. This last quarted he was awarded the Art student of the month.  Everitt just soaks up new material so quickly. Somtimes we think that has made school boring for him. He greatly enjoys math and science and comes home so excited to discuss his new science material. His greades have been wonderful and it all seems to come easily to him. To them both, and this I am soo gateful for. I love those busy boys and am so proud of them!

Now we prepare for a summer of baseball and swimming. And anything else we can do to keep busy. ;)

Preschool Fieldtrip

Alayna's preschool group to a trip to the pumpkin patch. The kids had fun 'driving' the tractors and 4-wheelers, running the maze and we even went through the haunted house! Corbin was so happy to be included. It was a beautiful day!

All ready for school

Today, 8-30, Alayna started preschool at Miss Kristina's.
She was so excited all morning long. I had fun with her doing her hair and having our own little photo shoot. Corbin was a bit bummed he could not go with her and I unexpectedly teared up after dropping her off. My little girl, growing up, I'm so proud of her.

End of Summer Fun now School Has Begun!

Bye-Bye Summer
We had a fun summer. Here are pictures of the fun we had that didn't get posted earlier.

Hail storm 7/20
Back in July we had a crazy hail storm hit our area. There was some of the largest hail I had ever seen. I know it can get larger but it was impressive, and the damage has turned out to be a blessing. Other than loosing my tomato plants!

Swim lessons end of July
Alayan's first time, she was real brave and they all did well.

Our last summer visit to Grand Lake and of course we have more pic of the kids on the horses, but what says 'end of summer' better than watermelon and corn on the cob? Corbin sure could not get enough of either one. It was fun watching him, so determined to finish every last bite. But the most fun would have to be playing on the lake.

Everitt with Mom
Coltin and Dad
Alayna and Mom
Corbin even took a ride all he wanted to do was touch the water.
They all had fun. Even if they were a little nervous at first.

Here the boys are ready and excited for school. Coltin is in second grade with Mrs. Davison and Everitt started kindergarten with Mrs. Adams. They have gotten off to a good start. Both have been doing real well.
