Ice Skating

Took the kids ice skating for a few hours. I think it was the first time for the younger two. Everitt with no fear headed out ready to conquer the rink. It slowed him down a bit but he never gave up. Coltin did pretty good but felt better sticking to the sides. Corbin and I had fun together, he struggled to stay on top of his blades. It was impressive how well Alayna picked up the balance and technique. We all had fun and hope to go again and get better!

She was balanced and on her own by the time we finished.

Bobcat

Tonight we attended our first cub scouts pack meeting. Coltin was awarded his Bobcat badge. They have, I think, 8 accomplishments they need to complete prior to joining the pack. The rest of this year he will be working towards earning his Wolf badge. The tradition is for dad to hold the scout upside-down while mom pins on the badge. (The scout has to do a 'good turn' in order for the badge to get placed on right-side up.) We missed Justin being there as he headed out the day before but we got the task done. Then Coltin pinned a Mother's pin on me. He is enjoying scouts and now we look forward to making a car for the Pinewood Derby in March.

And a fun weekend with Daddy.
Jan. 23, Justin traveled home to see us and it was cheaper for him to get the flight/hotel package vs. a straight flight. So we surprised the kids with a night in a hotel (in the DTC area) and swimming. We stayed up watching TV and eating popcorn and for breakfast I made and brought cinnabuns, pretzels and fish crackers. Gotta love snack food! It was great having Dad home. It had been a little too long.

Corbin leached onto Justin and wouldn't share him. Think he misses Daddy!?!

Finally got Alayna to be brave on her own with a float vest and water wings.

Winter Fun

Dad took the snowmobile out to Lake Granby so we could play.

We found good sledding hills and had us a great time. Corbin wanted to be driving with Papa the entire time.

I got to take the kids for a spin too!

Mom and Everitt raced Coltin and I. It was funny cause so much snow kicked up into the boys faces I don't think it was the best race for them.

We even had a little birthday celebration for Mom. Kids had fun putting lots of candles on the cake. It was a fun weekend.

Cub Scout

OK so I got all choked up tonight when I saw my little boy all dressed in his uniform and ready for his first night of cub scouts. It just seemed unreal that he was old enough to attend. He is very excited and is already working to sign some items off. It is fun to watch him grow. Good luck with Cub Scouts, bud, we are proud of you.

Coltin's Baptism

We are so proud of Coltin. Now that he is 8 he made the decision to be baptized. So on Jan. 2, at the Greely Stake Center, he was baptised. What a way to start the new year. It was real nice and we appreciate all the family that came.
